As a children's writer myself, I am pretty picky when it comes to endorsements of other author's works but I have to say that The Bog Baby is the best picture book I have read for years. I read it to my two year old grandson and he loved it. It's one of those rare books that as an adult you actually look forward to reading over and over again. The writing is beautiful, the illustrations are sublime -a perfect combination. This is a book I wish I had written myself. If you have children or grandchildren then The Bog Baby should absolutely, definitely, be up on their reading shelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 20 Jan 2010
I started out thinking I'm not going to like this - the introduction feels a little cheesy but as soon as I got onto Chapter One I was hooked. This is a brilliant page turner of a book. Well written and exciting. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dead Robin, 20 Jan 2010
A perfect antidote to the usual self-congratulatory Christmas Round Robins. This is Roger Lewis's seasonal dead robin. It is mostly very funny but there is an undercurrent of misanthropy that wears a bit thin after a while. A great loo book but I couldn't imagine wanting to read it more than once.
