The Winter War: The Russo-Finnish War of 1939-40 by William R. Trotter
This book is excellent: if you want to learn more about this fascinating period, look no further.

It is extremely well written and accessible. At no stage did I find myself flagging, or becoming bored: the pace is fast, but without skimping on description.

There are plenty of details here for military enthusiasts and political historians alike - however this book is readable enough to appeal to a reader with only the most basic interest in the conflict.

Very, very highly reccommended.

This book is invaluable.

The chances are that if you are reading this, you will have been searching for books about Transnistria (or the PMR, as it is also known). As you will no doubt have realised, there are very few books in English about this fascinating country!

That this book exists is therefore a real stroke of luck - that it is also a very good book makes it even more valuable.
