I saw the very first episode of Dr Who when it was first broadcast back in 1963. It had a magical quality, totally different from everything else at that time. William Hartnell was Dr Who for me, and when he left the series in 1966 I thought the series just wouldn't be the same. Because of the quality of the stories however, and the brilliant way in which the regeneration was achieved, I soon accepted the change to Patrick Troughton. The William Hartnell interview is a real bonus and the quality of the animation in episode 4 is very good.
