When I first got mine (about a year and a half ago from the states) I thought this was the coolest little toy I had managed to get my filthy little mitts on. And it was. For about 6 months. Initially, I couldn't be happier, file transferring was a doddle, software worked perfectly etc.etc. Then it started crashing. Very rarely at first. I thought that, seeing as it has a hard drive inside, all the best hard drives crash once in a while. So I didn't use it for a while apart from when it sat on my desk and it worked fine. This just goes to reaffirm the fact that Jimmy Page drew most of his early influences from Bert. From the upbeat folk/blues of The Waggoner's Lad to the classical haunting brilliance of Nicola back to the stunning one-man blues machine of Come Back, Baby which oozes Jansch's energy and talent. Anyone who is into Dylan in any sort of way should have a listen to this.
This is what formed all the rock and blues music we hear today. This is what started it all. Had it not been for that fire which damaged his left hand, maybe Django wouldn't have become the legend that he is today. Honeysuckle Rose and Georgia Brown (both with Stephane Grapelli and the Hot Club of France) are the stand-out tracks. He is the original master and still a refreshing sound. Buy this set NOW!!
