My Unfinished Business takes things literally by being an unfinished manuscript. Great, insightful stories but the book has clearly never been within 20 miles of a copy-editors deck. I am about 2 thirds of the way through the book and am enjoying the hard-hitting material Dan has given us. Definately a product of its time - much of the comedy would be considered lightweight today. BUT, the writing is crisp and thoughful and the delivery is first rate. I was too young to appreciate some of the earliest episodes, so have viewed them almost, but not quite, for the first time. The rapport between Bob and Terry is excellent - and they make the most of the plot lines which tend to be incidental to the delivery. A refreshing change to watch something without bad language. It would be good to an updated version, staring the original characters. Grumpy Old Men meets Friends meets Senfield.
