Justin and the Knights of Valour Amazon Instant Video ~ Freddie Highmore
Justin and the Knights of Valour Amazon Instant Video ~ Freddie Highmore
As a parent who has enjoyed many animated films with my children, and having heard Antonio Banderas talking about this film, I was looking forward to it. I was disappointed. Although the animation was excellent, the film was let down by a lack of real humour, and a somewhat lame story. It lacks the polish of films made by studios like Pixar and Disney. I found it hard to watch due to the stilted grunting and other bad sound effects which the actors (particularly the one playing Justin) used to accompany the action. Overall, it never quite draws the viewer into the magical world of animation - I was never able to forget that I was listening to a taped soundtrack over drawings. Young… Read more

I was hoping this would be a really spooky film from the reviews, but I was disappointed. It wasn't bad - just not good! It's the story (supposedly true, but with no evidence to prove that) of a paranormal investigator who spends 3 days and nights in a house apparently haunted after a mass murder 20 years before. I thought the small twist at the end was clever, but would only… Read more
The Cold Equations by Tom Godwin
The Cold Equations by Tom Godwin
Do not be put off by the sexist 70s cover of this book. Nowhere in the stories is there a scantily clad warrior woman. Instead I enjoyed all of the stories which are well written, suspenseful with a very human element. I originally read the short novel, "Survivors" in another compilation of sci fi stories, and bought this book as a result. Tom Godwin portrays his worlds as stark and unforgiving frontiers, and his characters as pioneers. Each story draws the reader in, and has a moral dilemma at it's core. I really enjoyed this book, and would highly recommend it.
