Management in 10 Words by Terry Leahy
Management in 10 Words by Terry Leahy
Everyone should read this book - there are intrinsic leadership qualities outlined; guidance on the basics of organisations and the psychology of change management but all wrapped up in a readable and practical outline of how, what and why Terry Leahy made Tesco's the most successful supermarket going.
Whilst I'm a leader in the public sector, there are all sorts of lessons which a applicable about understanding your business, embedding cultural change and focusing on your customer. Excellent.
Whatever It Takes: Geoffrey Canada's Quest to Chan&hellip by Paul Tough
This is an excellwent exploration of a visionary trying to revolutionse the world in a systems and holistic way. Unlike normal explorations of systems thinking this is the practical commentary on someone actually doing it.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to change the world, especially around societal change at a micro level, both in terms of leadership characteristics and approaches (not all positive outcomes mind you) or the practicalities of building something from scratch
The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Bi&hellip by Malcolm Gladwell
Enjoyable and great writing style but with lots of these type of books there is a cenrtal thesis which is then 'demonstrated'to death without exploration of what this might mean or what the next steps or possible future is?
Still worth a flick through though.
