I enjoyed this story as a light simple read, Cornwell it is not but then I didn't want it to be. The historical content is fairly accurate and the modern twist to the characters and story line make for a softer read. The battles were portrayed without excess gore, the style is slightly over explanatory and thus the categorisation of the second book, Viking! Saxon Holocaust, in the younger reader section is probably apt.
I found some of the low reviews very acrid for someone who paid just £1.96 for a Kindle edition. They admit to having not finished the book but that they found items irrelevant! They were not very helpful or consistent with the book that I read. That said it is good… Read more
