The Abduction Club (DVD) (2002) DVD ~ Alice Evans
This is not a cerebral film, it is a great family romp, funny and a little sad at times. Beautifully filmed, and of course the fantastically beautiful Sophia Myles to look at. I would recommend it.

Yes, I love doom laden gloomy books. My favourite Graham Greene book is The Heart of the Matter. This, though, is a close second. Deeply moving, deeply thought provoking. It questions faith, life, relationships in that typical dark yet scarily logical way that Mr Greene manages. A fine, fine novel.

Like many other reviews, probably a bit less good than his previous two books. It reads as a series of long short stories that are linked by different characters that pop up throughout and mesh it together. Some of the writing is breath-taking.
