4.0 out of 5 stars A Nice HD print, 13 Sep 2013
Firstly this is a review of the "Shout Factory" release from the USA.

This is a region free release which will play on UK region B Blu Ray players thankfully. A very nice HD Print with rich colours and DTS 2 audio. Their is no sign of any artifacts on the print, so a very good print or some time has been taken to do some restoration work.

There is a very good commentary including Roy Ward Baker the Director, and the leading star the late Ingrid pit, and others.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Waiting For, 16 Mar 2013
I received my copy in the post this morning. I already owned the previous release on DVD. A huge improvement, the restoration has been done beautifully without over doing dnr etc, the restored colour pallet is stunning. The added bonus of the restored japanese footage (Thanks Magnus ) has been integrated well. The seduction of Mina scene is fantastic, as well as the dracula disintegration scene at the climax prevously sensored is also astounding.

The extras are also well worth watching, comentaries, interviews, documentaries etc, and the painstaking restoration featuret.

Well done to everyone who helped make this blu ray come to fruition.

This film did'nt do well when it was released. I don't think it had the publicity it should have had. Being a " Hammer" fan, I was going to be critical of any film that had the hammer name associated with it.

I was pleasently surprised on how this film would live upto the hammer legend. Well written, and cast, with an original twist on the resurrection theme. Timothy Smalls character is excellent. After a slow build up, but essential to the story, the film had me glued to the screen. A very underated film and one that any fan of classic british/irish horror classics should definately see. I beleive in years to come this film will become a classic in its own right.
