I'm can't decide if this book is fact or fantasy. It is supposedly a true memoir but I can't help thinking that it is, at best, a very highly embroidered version of the truth. In the foreword the author says he had forgotten all the incidents until he started writing the book. Believe me, they are not the sort of things anyone could forget!

For all its faults I found the book a compelling read and wanted to turn the pages to find out what happened next but ultimately it was a frustrating book because it only really covers three small sections of his early life. I also ended up disliking the author as a person. It did not make me want to read the sequels.
