In My Own Words:
I'm single, always have been, and although I like female company of the right type, I'm not looking for a wife either! I originally trained as a chef, then I changed to archaeology and spent many more years in that. Born and brought up in Hampshire in the south of England.

Well to start with, having a decent conversation with an interesting person - male or female - from wherever in the world, the internet - especially discussion forums, reading, travelling - not necessarily to exotic places millions of miles away - walking along my favourite southern coastline at anytime of the year, cribbage, backgammon, my local football team, world affairs...Books: Almost exclusively non-fiction! So: Mainly history and biography, but also travel writing, diaries, memoirs. The greater majority of novels just don't rock my boat, I'm afraid! A few exceptions being: Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness', 'Song Bird'.
Films: 'Apocalypse Now', 'Casablanca', 'Flight of the Phoenix' (the original, definately NOT the awful Dennis Quaid remake!), various other war/history films eg. 'Paths of Glory', 'Five Graves to Cairo', Gosford Park', 'Remains of the Day', 'Come and See'..., Woody Allen's early film work' eg. 'The Sleeper', 'Play it Again Sam', 'Bananas', Bob Hope comedies, lots of documentaries! Music: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, lots of late '50's rock 'n' roll and '60's sounds, some punk/New Wave. Classical eg. Satie, Puccini, Mozart. Oh and not to forget hat and cap collecting! I'm a very devoted fan of the Saints (Southampton Football Club) too!
