British Railways Steam Locomotives 1948 - 1968 by Hugh Longworth

This is a superb book, and although a little pricey, it's worth it as definitive reference for all steam locos in the BR era. However, if you are looking for a pictorial (photo) volume, this is not for you, but don't let that put you off. In years to come, this will indeed become the Grail (as previously mentioned) for steam loco enthusiasts who have already acquired numerous photographic volumes (like me), and it will undoubtedly be the best cross-reference book you will ever have!
Year Of The Wolf ~ Nerina Pallot
Year Of The Wolf ~ Nerina Pallot
I bought Year Of The Wolf on the back of seeing Nerina at the O2 (London) this October supporting Barry Gibb.
I have to say I'm disappointed in the album's production.
With the O2 gig, it was just her (guitar and keyboards) with bass and drums, and although she had to deal with what I considered to be excessive noise from the so-called `hospitality suites', her set was great!
I just didn't get this vibe from the studio recording.
She has a lovely voice, and writes meaningful lyrics, but the studio production needs to be better ----- sorry!
The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen
The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen
Not one of my favourite Tess Gerritsen books, and I have read quite a few.
Just couldnít get into it as it goes back and forth over time too much, and thatís something I donít generally like.
Still, a small price to pay as I really like many of her other books ---- you canít win them all.
