2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me, 12 April 2014
I could not find anything to really like about this book. There is hardly any plot, which does not usually bother me, but that was not compensated by interesting characters, or great writing style, or original insights, or anything else that can make a book worth the time to read it. Not the worst book I ever read by all means, but deserves its low rating since for me it falls short of its literary ambitions.

I love the quirky, dark, disquieting nature of these stories. I liked some more than others (but isn't that always the case with collections?), but still a really good book. I wish Kelly Link published more often!

I can see why this book might not be everybody's cup of tea - but I loved it. It is original, quirky, witty, thought provoking, and I loved the black humour that runs through the whole book. Even some of the side characters are brilliant - Professor Jove and the estate agent are little masterpieces. Be prepared to have some of your beliefs turned upside down, and enjoy this clever, unusual book.
