Beautifully written book by Veronica Clark, capturing Hayley's story of her struggles with her compulsive disorder. The book begins with Hayley's memories as a child as she reflects on the early signs of her illness and how it later developed as she matured into adulthood. A very interesting read, thoroughly enjoyed this book and well highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful true story, 16 Oct 2013
A dog called Dez is written in such a way that it caught my attention straight away...I then struggled to put the book down. Following the true story of John and his difficult childhood, his disruptive behaviour and neglect of his own health leading to a tragedy in his life by losing his sight. However this actually is the start to a new life for him helped by the star of the book, his guide dog Dez. Its a wonderful book, beautifully written, capturing John's life and transformation. Very uplifting.

This is a truly wonderful book capturing a Macmillan nurse' experiences. It is very moving and beautifully written. I too am very proud and honoured to be a Macmillan nurse and found this book so inspiring to read. It should be a mandatory read for every new Macmillan postholder. Thank you Clare for sharing your experiences.
