5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Purchase, 22 Sep 2012
Very pleased with this game,it has the humour, attitude and sheer playability that the likes of Rage,Duke Nukem and Crysis havent.
Its just about 20 years since Doom burst on the scene as the forerunner of the first person shooting genre. In an overcrowded market,FPS titles that stand out have become rare.I played the original Borderlands many times over quite happily as a single player,(that way the loots all mine).About four hours into Borderlands 2 im pleased to see that Gearbox have largely stuck to a winning formula.Yes it is a game so largely about the guns, theyre are millions of them and they are more satisfying than in any other FPS ive ever played.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Maligned, 21 Oct 2011
I dont normally do reviews but i feel that this is one one of those games that has been much maligned.I ve played just about every FPS since DOOM was released as the first of the genre in 1993.I confess i only bought this because it was cheap,i was in the middle of playing Rage when it arrived so i just loaded it up and thought i will play it for 10 minuted to see that its set to run.Such is the playability that i quickly forgot about Rage and ive finished Sniper and now got the expansion pack(from Steam) to enjoy.
The setting is all jungle forests and islands, the graphics are slick and lush. There is a good mix of mainly shooting with the first equipped sniper rifle which is an awesome… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars MIXED, 8 Oct 2011
I considered this a must have premier purchase. However on my decent high end PC that plays everything else no bother,it wont play at all.It takes about 4hrs to download being a massive 25GB!.Ive asked Steam for my money back.In the meantime ive bought the PS3 version and although ive only played it 3hrs i already think its one of those games i wont be able to put down.It reminds me very much of my all time favourite Borderlands, perhaps without the humour and the cartoony graphics but the game does have its own ambience and i keep stopping in game to enjoy the superb detail.
