3.0 out of 5 stars Buy it for CD2, 24 Jan 2014
Only seems like yesterday since I was listening to Armin's first BBC Essential Mix via Sir Pete Tong. Since then, I drifted away from Armin's mixes are there simply was nothing that could top that quite extraordinary work. Yeah, sounds pretentious, but that is what I think of it. You only have to listen to the transition into the Solarcoaster track on that mix to understand where I'm coming from. CD2 on this album is interesting and I am finding more and more "good stuff" in it. I even like the fact that in some rare instances, the beat matching goes slightly out of synch, contributing to the live feel. As the son of a "Hearach" (person from Harris), whose psychologically distant uncle (I was too young), drowned in Stornoway harbour at a young age, the book hits. It's not always easy to articulate how the disatisfied with life feel, but Kevin MacNeil pulls it off brilliantly in this wonderful book (this guy has the X-Factor!). "A few (pint) glasses later . . . " (p. 166) captures the tone of the book and admits both the casual, non-Scottish reader and pulls the cursed into the story. Funny, too.

Guiseppe is a true talent when it comes to producing that sound -- you know what it is when you hear it: often in PVD sets. Clean, tight, pure. Masterful production that punches through a good set of speakers and gets that "I wish I was on holiday in some sunny place" feeling going. Guiseppe stands beside Arksun as two of the best dance music producers out there, along with Activa, Temple One, John O, Stoneface and Terminal . . . Get the album, then buy the origanal tracks. Ciao!
