Eliminations & Throw Ins (Bridge Technique Series) by David Bird

This is a shortish book, focussed on the elimination and throw-in bridge technique - a very important one in bridge.
The book explains very well several situations under which this technique is appropriate to use. Very often you will find yourself a trick short of making your contract. Using this technique you can surrender a loser to your opponents, and when they lead for the next trick, it is forced to be in your favour (either via ruff and discard, or giving you the opportunity to promote a non-winner in the suit lead.
This gives several examples of the play, and also a a quiz after every section (with a couple of hands for you to plan yourself).

LG KP501 Cookie Black Mobile Phone on Orange PAYG &hellip by Nokia

I've had my LG KP501 for a few months now, and have very mixed views on it.

Firstly, let's talk about the good points. It has a touch-screen, which lets you enter text by either numerical keypad, qwerty keyboard, or writing on the screen.
It also has a great feature where you turn the phone sideways-up, and the display will also turn itself sideways up.
On paper, the phone really does have all the features the average person could want. these include bluetooth, radio, MP3 player, vibrate alert, organiser etc.

For the bad points, firstly the lock on the touchscreen is not adequate. It is unlocked by simply holding down at one point on the touchsscreen for… Read more
Sony Ericsson W580i Sim Free Mobile Phone - black/&hellip by Sony Ericsson

I chose this phone really for two reasons - firstly I liked Sony Ericsson, and secondly that I was informed it had a very long battery life.
But there could have been plenty of other reasons! The buttons are all very nicely placed on the phone, and it's very user-friendly. The buttons are also nice and easy to press (not too small or too close together!).
Not least, I was very impressed with the features the phone has. Obviously it's a Walkman phone, and it has a 2 MP camera (which is enough for an occasional user), and it can also do all the basics we expect from a phone. But very nice bonuses were the FM radio, and a pedometer! I had never thought about having a pedometer in a… Read more
