I read this book as a newly qualified social worker, shortly after it was published in 2002. Now, having worked in the UK in the same challenging field for a further 11 years, I am going to buy it again (someone borrowed my copy, and that was the last I saw of it!). It was the most informative, fascinating and easy to digest non-fiction book I've read. I highly recommend it!

Somebody gave me a copy of this book years ago, when I lived in South Africa. It was invaluable, and as a "compleat idiot" when it comes to cars, I loved the pictoral step-by-step guides to keeping my volksie alive. When I sold my Beetle (and cried for days afterwards) I gave the book to another VW lover, who was equally thrilled to have the tattered copy in his collection.

Now I am beginning to dabble in VW fun and games again, I really hoped that I would be able to find it on Amazon. And ... voila! Thank you, thank you, for my beautiful new copy! Inspiring without leaving one feeling overwhelmed at one's lack of knowledge! Even the kids are reading it.
