Skorzeny 'The Most Dangerous Man in Europe' by Charles Whiting

At well under 200 pages, this shouldn't take you long to read. A brief, well written study . Most people interested in the period would probably rather a book a bit more substantial, but it does serve as a basis for further research or indeed for the reader who is looking for an easily readable overview.
Bradshaws Continental Railway Guide (Old House) by George Bradshaw
5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it !, 29 Jan 2013
You're probably considering whether or not to purchase this, perhaps after seeing Michael Portillo's recent TV series based on the guide. Don't hesitate - buy it !

it is one of the fattest - if definitely not one of the tallest - books on my shelf with over 1000 pages. An exact facsimile of the original guide, it contains fold out maps and even a bookmark. Beautifully presented in hardcover with protective transparent heavy duty plastic dust cover. Would make an ideal gift - to yourself if you can't persuade someone else to buy it for you !

Leaf through the pages and use it to plan a holiday - or just dream & escape the dreary weather we are currently experiencing.
The Eagle Unbowed: Poland and the Poles in the Sec&hellip by Halik Kochanski

Though clearly proud of her Polish roots ( I am assuming) Ms Kochanski gives a well balanced account of the part the Poles played in the Second World War and the fate that befell that nation at the time.
