4.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down!, 18 Mar 2013
This is an interesting read. I really got a feel for another country rather than being a tourist via paper. The characters are compelling, sometimes I lost my way as the names are unfamiliar but I couldn't put the book down. Like another reviewer, I read it in less than a week. I loved the story line which I couldn't guess the outcome right till the end. Loved the emotional depth of the characters and the story. I will read it again as its a meaty read.

This is a great book for sock knitters. I have knitted socks years ago and am getting into it again.
This book is very useful in the information it gives about yarn and attributes for socks. Also the info on how socks should fit - which explains why my earlier attempts were only good for padding about the house.
Really interesting section on stitch patterns and how you can use it along with the nature of your yarn to maximise your sock.
Lovely patterns from experienced sock knitters such as Cat Bordhi.
Mixture of toe up and cuff down patterns. And loads of techniques.
If you ever thought of designing this would be a useful book to have read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting lay out, 12 Jan 2013
The layout of each story is interesting. The book is divided into different catagories of stories such as prison and war.
There is enough to get your teeth into without it being too long. I was surprised to find some real old stories in it from 1800's onwards.
