Finally, the original analogue masters were directly transferred foe this new edition of Frank Zappa's live album at the Fillmore. When compared to other group's recordings at the same venue (Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers), it sounds a little mediocre in terms of sound quality, but it is an interesting album anyway. The previous Ryko release featured FZ remaster, loaded with digital reverb and noise reduction procedures that really affected the sound quality for bad. This reissue brings us the original mix, which sounds more natural, warmer, with a richer bottom end, and with "Willie The Pimp, part two", that had been inexplicably erased in the previous CD edition (actually, it had been… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars AT LAST!, 15 Aug 2012
The 2012 reissue of this album sounds just the way it should, transferred from the original master. Without the digital reverb added by Zappa for the previous CD releases, this album sounds better than ever, clear and warm.
Tha artwork is almost exactly the same to that of the Ryko release, except for the back cover, which prevously featured a picture of Zappa and now features the original back cover with Ian Underwood.
Really great sound, great remastering job.

The 2012 reissue of this albums sounds just the way it should, transferred from the original master. Without the digital reverb added by Zappa for the previous CD releases, this album sounds better than ever, clear and warm. Other changes include "Didja Get Any Onya?" recovering its original shorter length, and "Directly From My Heart To You" not seguing into "Prelude...".
Tha artwork is almost exactly the same to that of the Ryko release, but with the Zappa Records logo instead.
Really great sound, great remastering job.
