This is an excellent survey and explanation of where our study and knowledge of sexualities and genders has got to just now and how to transmit this within the helping professions and teaching counsellors, therapists and others with key roles to play in these fields. Great, valuable, work.
Outlaw Marriages: The Hidden Histories of Fifteen &hellip by Rodger Streitmatter
This is a very important book detailing the lives and loves of some very significant same sex couples, where, mostly, one is incredibly famous and the other not. How their love sustains and nourishes their public achievements is vitally interesting and valuable to learn. There is a lack of depth and analysis to the whole, however, maybe in the nature of a quick collection like this with just about eight or ten pages per couple. The reader has to think about all the potent implications for themselves - no bad thing? Very good addition to our knowledge of 'secret' same-sex relationships over oppressive history.
Fanny and Stella: The Young Men Who Shocked Victor&hellip by Neil McKenna
I enjoyed this book SO Much I was compulsively reading it for days, ignoring meals and tasks and totally hooked. It's so beautifully written and constructed to maintain the drama throughout while building layer upon layer of extraordinary, mid-blowing detail with myriad repercussions. I dreaded it coming to an end.... Wow! A truly wonderful achievement!
