The Juice 2008 2008: 100 Wines You Should be Drink&hellip by Matt Skinner

Like with food books, it seems that publishers try to tempt us with lifestyle and personalities rather than old-fashioned good writing and that certainly seems to be the case with this little book. It works well enough as a bit of fun for Christmas but isn't really interesting or in depth enough to be much use after the festive period. Matt Skinner is obviously young and `funky' but that is far from being enough to sell this book. I'd give it 3/5.
The Year Of Eating Dangerously: A Global Adventure&hellip by Tom Parker Bowles

Pretty pointless book really. Not very well written and only mildly amusing. One can't help thinking that Tom Parker-Bowles wanted to be a 'foodie' as he didn't know what else to do. The writing is not very interesting and the food isn't at all dangerous.

This book is great. I had been looking for a good wine guide and was using a book by Matt Skinner (too many photos, not enough wines), so I was really pleased when my local wine shop suggested the Wine List. A great book and in my opinion better than the competition. Matthew Jukes comes accross as likable too.
