Who Are You: The Life of Pete Townshend by Mark Wilkerson

On the plus side I found this a very easy read - I got through it on a couple of long haul flights over a few days and enjoyed it overall. However this is little more than a cut and paste job, admittedly a superior one. I longed for the author to put forward some kind of opinion of his own - particularly around the music, where he relied on contemporary reviews from often questionable sources. For example, I find Townshend's mid 80s work to be his most personal and in many ways his finest - All the Best Cowboys and White City particularly, however it's simply not given the focus it warrants and the author gives none of his own opinion, despite claiming to be a huge fan. Echoing the other reviews of this book on here, this is a fantastic piece of work by one of the foremost Dylan experts and despite being chopped into individual songs it still manages to read like a cohesive whole. 5.0 out of 5 stars Nice bit of kit, 20 Nov 2008
Revo are a Scottish company who have led the way in Internet radio over the last few years. This model doesn't have DAB, but if you have wi-fi in the house that's hardly a problem as all the stations you want plus all podcasts (such as BBC listen again) are available to you. You'll need to use the online piece to set some of that stuff up as with 17,000 radio stations to choose from it's tricky to navigate with the device itself sometimes. However integration and set up are completely seamless. Within 10 minutes of getting the product I was listening to BBC 7 in excellent quality.

We need to support pioneering British companies in these difficult times, and if you're looking for… Read more
