Bought this unit as an additional unit to a small 9000 BTU unit. It was a real shock the amount of noise it created even in just fan mode. When the compressor comes in to do the cooling you can hear the vibration through the floor. I was asked numerous times to turn it off as the noise stopped people from sleeping.
Yes it is big. Almost twice as big as the 9000 BTU unit I have.
In cooling, the exhaust hose gets hot. I mean really hot to the point of hot to the touch. This produces a lot of heat back into the air. This made the unit work harder to cool. I ended up wrapping a towel around the hose to keep in the heat.

This is the first air conditioner I have installed. I have no special skills other than in electrical systems so this was all new to me.
The first thing that one should be aware of is that the piping, control cable and drain pipe require a 650mm hole to pass through any wall. Production of this size hole through a red brick wall in my case was the hardest part of the installation as this required special drills and drill bits to be hired.
