The Devil's Ribbon is a dark, page-turning mystery of epic proportions. It's written with such masterful authority that one questions if reading a work of fiction. Meredith's Victorian London is brought to life with all it's squalor and casual atrocities as viewed by the fabulously paired forensic duo Hatton and Roumande. I adore the sensitive Hatton, the genuine kindness of Roumande and their ever-evolving 'who's the teacher, who's the student?' relationship. Bring on the next book!!

This is more than just a story that you can read. This a spectacular novel; superbly written with a storyline so brilliantly complex and thoughtful that it is literally impossible to tear your eyes away from it. The beautifully created descriptions allow you to feel, hear, smell, see, taste and become a part of the adventure; the writer presents you with a gateway to embark on the most extraordinary adventure you will ever read/hear about! The characters are so compellingly unique you feel a strong bond with them, may they be human, animal or other!
