A Class Act: Myth of Britain's Classless Society by Andrew Adonis
5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading, 2 May 2014
A cold and calculated assessment of an emotive topic, this book was written before Andrew Adonis became a politician, publicly. at least. It is semi-academic in tone, but very readable.
It could be depressing, but it could could also be a call to arms. Anyone who wants to argue that Britain is a classless or fair society should be directed here, whereupon they will be confronted with some uncomfortable facts

Almost like a thriller with no dead bodies. Beautifully acted, great characterisation. One of the very best TV series I have ever seen.

A journey of self discovery for a middle-aged man with many troubles, this is not always an easy book, especially for other middle-aged men! However, the book issues some challenges to the reader, and is certainly thought provoking. It is not a light-hearted read, and some patience is needed before the the plot, and the prose begins to flow. Well worth persevering.
