4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Collection, 1 Oct 2010
This album has been in the Classical Charts now many times since release. This is because all the tracks are well known from television adverts and films. The album is ideal to put on after a hard day at work or after the kids have gone to bed. Lovely selection and with its long running length is in my opinion the best of these sorts of collections available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Recording, 5 Sep 2010
This is a stunning recording. Wells Cathedral Choir are truly exceptional and this recording is one of the most exciting releases of choral music this century. It is worth buying for the anthem "Seek Him that maketh the seven stars" which ebbs and flows to a tremendous climax of power and beauty. Every track is excellent. Jonathan Dove can now be considered up there with the Taverner, Howells and Britten as a truly iconic UK choral composer and this release is the authoritative collection of his work so far.

I am astounded that this seems to be the only recording of this particular mass because it shows off the writing of Palestrina more than any other of his masses. With soaring heights and beauty this mass is also delivered with perfection in this recording. It is a shame that this mass is only available in MP3 but dont let that put you off because this particular recording will be played endlessly once you have either put it on your player or burnt it to a CD. If you love Palestrina then this recording is essential for your collection to add to those of the Tallis Scholars and the Sixteen.
