Doctor Who - The Dæmons [DVD] DVD ~ Jon Pertwee
Doctor Who - The Dæmons [DVD] DVD ~ Jon Pertwee

This is the final story of Jon Pertwee's second season as the Doctor, and was supposedly his favourite.

It is set on Earth and features UNIT as well as the Master. It has a great atmosphere to the whole story and a 'quatermass' feel to it in places.

Unfortunately the additional features have not been reviewed but based upon recent releases, these are likely to be interesting.

This is definitely one to add to your Dr Who DVD collection, and it you don't have a Jon Pertwee story in your collection, then this is certainly a strong one to go for!!
Sacrifice of the Widow (Forgotten Realms Novel: La&hellip by Lisa Smedman

This novel is set after the series 'Forgotten Realms: War of the Spider Queen'. I would therefore recommend that you read those books before embarking upon this novel.

The last part of that series was very good and this novel fails to continue the high standard which were generally maintained throughout that series. Part of the problem with this book is that you don't know who the main characters really are and as such I feel that you tend not to care about any of them.

It is not a bad book and worth reading if you enjoyed 'War of the Spider Queen' but be prepared for a disappointment if your expectations are very high.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book bred to be read, 18 Feb 2007
This is a very addictive read and I would go as far as to say, in the top 10% of books set in the Forgotten Realms.

However to truly appreciate it I would strongly suggest that you read the Erevis Cale trilogy first. This is because it picks up where that trilogy finishes. Another trilogy Return of the Archwizards would help with your enjoyment.

If you are looking for your next book to read in the Forgotten Realms then this is it!!
