Big Ryan Adams fan since buying Gold, although my personal fave album still remains his Whiskeytown Pneumonia album. After the disappointing Rock and Roll and varied Love is Hell album(s) I think this is a real return to form.
At the first few listens I saw this as a nice summery afternoon record, then I listened to it a lot on holiday and there is a lot more to this album than you first realise. Yes, there is some classic Adams alt-country tunes (let it ride, dance all night, sweet illusions) but its the more thoughtful tracks that really hit home here. Heard Emily on the radio and was blown away, listened to a couple of album tracks and was really blown away. The best comment I've read so far about this album is regarding the flow. The music and lyrics for each song have this natural beauty to them which never ceases song after song. Personal favorites are probably run, emily and the stunning New York. Well worth an investment

Having been a fan of feeder since hearing High many years ago, I was slightly disappointed with Echo Park. Where was the standout track of previous albums (High, Yesterday went too soon), that no other British Indie band could come close to writing. It was a good album without doubt, but compared to their latest, it doesn't hold a match to it, let alone a tourch. This album hasn't got anything quite like Insomnia or Buck Rogers, but that's not what this record about (well apart from the dreadful godzilla). There are some very good tracks, such as the first single 'come back around', 'comfort in sound', 'find the colour' and the wonderful closing track 'moonshine', and these songs alone… Read more
