 Côte à Côte
 Vin de France

On opening, this pale-coloured French white wine has a soft stone-fruity aroma with a hint of vanilla.
Chilled, it is pleasant enough on its own, being dry & light with a slightly zesty grapefruit finish (to me).
However, at a recent function it went very well with a crisp green salad followed by delicate sea bream fillet simply served with boston beans & boiled minted gem potatoes with a touch of butter.

Currently at a good price with free delivery for a case of 6.

This is a colourful set of 5 measuring spoons held together with a grey-coloured plastic-type ring. It is possible to open the ring and remove the spoons and the ring clicks back together when required. The sizes of the chunky rounded bowl spoons are:

* ¼ teaspoon 1.25ml
* ½ teaspoon 2.5ml
* 1 teaspoon 5ml
* ½ tablespoon 7.5ml
* 1 tablespoon 15ml

Each spoon is a different colour although the sets can vary.
The measurements are abbreviated to 'tsp' or 'Tbs' & 'ml', and are in… Read more

 Cabernet Sauvignon
 South Africa
 14.0% Vol

This medium-bodied South African Cabernet Sauvignon has, to me, a dark berry/cherry mix of flavours with a hint of creamy chocolate and a touch of spice at the finish.
All this and more in a glass of wine which went down very well with a 70s inspired menu of chargrilled fillet steak, followed by good old Black Forest Gâteau (recipe from page 18 in The Prawn Cocktail Years), although we did crack open a bottle of its sister wineRead more
