When THQ announced they would be coming out with a legends only wrestling game, I was over the moon, being a fan of the WWF of the 1980s and 1990s. I am also a fan of the latest Smackdown vs. Raw game (2009) which played extremely well, and was great fun. I therefore had great hopes for this game...

Unfortunately however, this game has belied its promise. THQ explained that they wanted to simplify the controls on this game as compared to Smackdown. Midnight Club Los Angeles is like its predecessor on the PS2. It is an arcade racer pure and simple, and was never meant to be a "realistic" racing game. The things I like about it after having played it for a week are as follows:

The graphics of the game are incredibly detailed, and really give you a feeling of the street racing scene (as seen in movies like "The Fast & The Furious) in LA

- Outstanding choice of vehicles, from tuners to muscle cars and bikes… Read more

Fans of the Microsoft Age of Empires series will love this game. It is far more extensive than the Microsoft Age of games, and just as enjoyable. I have playes a demo of this game, and the graphics are simply stunning. Moreover, the gameplay is excellent too. Each civilisation has their own unique strengths and weaknesses, providing a depth to the game that is simply unmatched so far. This game is quite challenging as well - the AI of your opponents can be set at 4 different levels, and even at the easiest level, your opponents have you with your back to the wall early on. It's not like the Age of games where you can establish your defences pretty easily and survive early attacks without… Read more
