Just Enough Education To Perform ~ Stereophonics
What can i say? Phonics craked it 3rd time round. This time with a different shadow. It kicks off with a really jump n jiving 'Vegas two times' which really opend the album up, and the rest is just pure gold. The lyrics are the most powerful part of this album, and not so far behind in 2nd place the actual music. "Mr writer" is so catchy and makes you want to scream along with Kelly's distintive, amazing voice. Songs like 'Have a nice day' od not appeal to me as much as others, however it is still an ace tune. "Nice to be out" is my favourite on this album, the lyrics are so meaningful and so clever. This is an album you want on when you are spending an hour in the bath right up till you… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, 12 July 2005
I am a huge phonics fan, and i can safely say this is my favourite of the lot. It is incredibly under-rated, and should be recognised as a fine piece of work. Its rockier, the lyrics are just amazing and it reflects an original theme. Fantastic. Here are the songs and a snippet of each-
A thousand trees- Clever piece of pop rock and was happy 2 learn this was released as a single.
Looks like chaplin- Bit more heavier than thousand trees, short n sweet. Its quite catchy
More life in a tramps vest- Another catchy rock song. Quite simple too
Local boy in the photograph- Amazing, it has a clever story and very powerful. Some sweet riffs as well.
Traffic- Here is the… Read more
Language. Sex. Violence. Other? ~ Stereophonics
I brought this album months ago, and it is still growing on me. It is a lot different to their "Just enough education to perform" work, and a lot similar to "you gotta go there to come back". We can clearly see what sort of music the phonics are devloping, and its pretty darn good! Electronic rock at its best, it is a must album for a phonics fan who can understand and love there new music approach. Dakota, Superman, Lolita, Devil and deadhead are the ones that stand out on this album, they deliver some hard rock n roll. So retro, funky and outstanding. Buy it.
