They do the job exactly as expected. You need to be careful which way round you put the card as the back is NOT symmetrical. I have managed to print on the back with a normal printer but it comes out wet and is likely to smudge; it dries after a while.

Item arrived promptly and well packaged. It comes in a rather natty box inside a cardboard sleeve. The adapter rings supplied should fit most macro lenses. I need to photograph glass jewellery which has always been a real problem because of reflections; this doesn't completely eliminate the problem but greatly ameliorates it. For more conventional macro photography it gives an excellent 'flat' light - I've not yet tried the modelling functionality, adjusting the two sides to different strengths. Two things to note: it really is a macro tool and is pretty well useless if the subject is a metre away; connected to a Canon DSLR you need to set the flash to E-TTL not auto. Firstly, when it prints it is very good. But...
Let's start with installation. The instructions are reasonably clear though I spent about half an hour mis-identifying the bottom cassette (curl your fingers DOWN, duh!). The only LAN connection is WiFi, no Ethernet cable. The USB connection is an old style socket, no cable included. Installing the WiFi driver on my PC brought down the complete Ethernet stack - no LAN access, etc, but was resolved by a hard reboot. The amount of bloatware is horrendous. There's some sort of web print thing which doesn't work with IE9, never mind IE10 - I shudder to think how out of date and therefore potentially malware ridden Canon's development… Read more
