Especially the last chapters are brilliant. I imagine this to be a love it or hate it book though.
The Geek Manifesto: Why science matters by Mark Henderson
It's well written. The title actually describes it pretty well: it's a Geek Manifesto. It also uses plenty of examples from both british and american politics. If this is your subject, feel free to buy it. If you're not looking for a book with political aspirations look elsewhere.
The Collapse of Mechanism and the Rise of Sensibil&hellip by Stephen Gaukroger
This account is technical. It's not easy. But you got to respect the sheer verbosity with which it is written. There are multiple spelling errors in my copy but quite frankly I don't care. This man knows his stuff and if you're willing to delve inside and take the trip with him you won't be sorry.
