As a listener of every album and single Sinatra ever produced I would rate every one of them five stars, however Duets for me is an immense disappointment.

The first major issue with duets is that no dueting took placed. They used karaoke style pre recorded sounding backing tracks and then got each artist to sing their allocated vocals separately, then through the power of modern music technology, brought it all together. Aside this spoiling the entire notion of the album, at times the false sound shows horribly.

Vocally Sinatra is not in great voice, which is understand at his age of 77 years old. However Sinatra during this time wasn't unpleasant to listen to, even… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have, 7 April 2009
Trilogy is not for the brand new Sinatra listener, but it is the jewel in the crown to atop any Sinatra fans collection.

In trilogy we see a mixture of arranges broken up into three distinct sections. First comes the past and we see a wonderful mix of old standards that Frank had not recorded in many years. "The Song is You" and "Lets Face The Music" are excellent punchy numbers, however I do feel the original versions are far superior. "It had to be you" and "I had the craziest dream" are wonderful versions with terrific arrangements. For me, the star off the entire album is "More Than You Know", this terrific standard not previously recorded by Frank (at least not under reprise… Read more

That's life is regarded as one of the worst albums Sinatra ever made and the for most part this is true, however that by no stretch of the word means it is a bad album. The main problem with that's life is Sinatra himself. Sinatra gave us albums of such phenomenal quality of albums that we expect genius from every album, yet even Sinatra off form is still better than anyone else on form.

That's life is general gives us an odd mixture of some terrific songs, some enjoyable listens, and some real bloomers. The Pros of this album are that there are some excellent songs, it is up beat and light hearted and of course Sinatra is in very good voice. The arrangements are punchy and very… Read more
