The Secret Life of Bletchley Park: The WWII Codebr&hellip by Sinclair McKay
This history really puts the meat on the bones of other records of Bletchley Park. It records the social, emotional & psychological body of the lives of those who worked there, bringing many well known characters to life. This history goes hand in hand with other, more technical books and fiction works about the place & era.
The Traders' War (Merchant Princes Omnibus 2) by Charles Stross

2.0 out of 5 stars Dull, 18 Oct 2013
I really struggled with this. I like most of Stross' other books, but this lacked pace and humour. The plot is convoluted and the situations unrealistic. The science was dubious at best, and led to a feeling that this was written by someone with much less experience than Stross, who we know can do better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely quick read, 18 Oct 2013
A very clever short novel about a weekend back in Scotland for an exile. The characters are well written, the plot moves apace, and the flashbacks are very well integrated. A really easy, satisfying read from a brilliant author.
