I'm a fan of pretty much anything Valve do; from Half-Life through to Left 4 Dead, I have all the games they have made and love every one of them. Their ability to create innovative sci-fi technology and blend it seamlessly with a breathtaking gameplay experience was demonstrated with particular prowess in Half-Life 2 with the 'Gravity Gun', but the 'Aperture Science Portable Quantum Tunneling Device' takes the cake...

I can't emphasise enough how excellent this album is. The 'best live band in Britain' tag, while totally accurate, could be an excuse to pass on their studio work. Bad idea. Get your hands on everything they have done. I have. They have restored my faith in new music. I've seen them twice now, and when they are next in London, I'll be there. With my t-shirt on. The critics got it wrong on this one. Stone Temple Pilots might not have been 'there' first but this album features some incredible songs; sure, the chorus to 'Sin' sounds like Alice In Chains, but hey, it's as good as anything AIC have put out (and I love AIC)! Just listen to Plush; it didn't win a Grammy for nothing you know!
