Stig of the Dump by Clive King

I thought this book was a really good book because it was really creative and imaginative for primary children. The story is about a little boy called Barney who is at his grandmother's for the holidays. He fell down a cliff, met a cave boy called Stig and is amazed by his inventive talents. Barney's sister does not believe in Stig. Could he simply be a figment of Barney's imagination?

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for all ages, 30 April 2012
I am a primary school teacher and have read and enjoyed this book with pupils from age 4-12. This is what they said:
"It fills up your imagination."
"I think it was entertaining and I would like to read it to younger children."

We read this book as a class book study. Michael Morpurgo is our school author of the year. When we first saw the book we didn't know what to think but we were soon absorbed by the moving story of the Peaceful family, which is beautifully described by Michael Morpurgo. It is a very moving book. It's emotional but when the end comes it's like the emotions drown out of you. We would recommend it most highly to anyone of any age. We hope the film will be as good.
