Pilates Weight Loss Workout For Dummies [DVD]

I really hate exercise, but I decided that I probably need to be a bit more active, so I got this dvd. It's really not bad - the workout's fairly short, so it's manageable to do it every day or so; the instructor's easy to follow and not too irritating, and the sets of exercises are fairly short so you don't get bored doing endless reps of the same thing. It aims to build balance, tone muscles and improve posture, which seems a bit daunting but there aren't too many fancy grapevine-type aerobics steps that'll have you falling over your own feet! All in all, it's fairly basic, and there's a lot of focus on legs and stomach, so in future I might alternate it with a different type of workout,… Read more
Marco Pierre White Hard Anodised with Copper Base &hellip by Beka

I bought this pan a few weeks ago, when it was at a promotional price of 23.98. Since then I've used it for a wide range of dishes, and it's been very good, overall. The heavy base of the pan means it takes a minute or two to get really hot, with my electric hob, but once it's heated it retains the heat very well. It's good for cooking stir-fries and eggs as it retains the heat and the non-stick coating prevents food burning or sticking. It also browns meat nicely, although you don't get the same savoury crust on a steak, for example, that you would get using a griddle or other pan that isn't non-stick. The metal handle means you can pop the pan under the grill or in the oven without… Read more

I don't think this is a particularly good introduction to Miles Davis' work, as it features so little of his groundbreaking albums, Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain and Birth of the Cool. While Davis was a prolific artist, and it's hard to distill his work down to a few tunes, it's shocking that this album has none of Sketches of Spain and only 1 track from Kind of Blue and Porgy & Bess. Either of these albums would be a better introduction for a first-timer.
