This album is AMAZING. If you're a fan of The Offspring in anyway at all, then this should appeal to you. It's slightly 'poppy' but without going over the top and it's slightly 'punk' but doesn't go too heavy and does the hard task of appealling to fans of earlier punk albums like Ignition while appealling to fans of their pop side like Americana at the same time. This means that with Ixnay On The Hombre, you get a sound that is energetic and catchy throughout, yet is varied with fast and slow ska, rock and punk with no two songs sounding the same.
Why other reviewers have dissed Ixnay I don't know. Ok, 'Don't Pick It Up' isn't that funny but its incredibly catchy and is funnier than… Read more

I'm more into the heavier punk sounds of Rancid and NOFX and I'm even partial to a bit of Slipknot, so when I thought about buying one of The Offsprings albums, I looked for a more punk rather than pop fueled album and I found the perfect match with Ignition. Every song on here is amazing. Its one of those albums that you can put on and just leave to play with no skips because every song is so fantastic. The only problem is that they do all sound kinda the same apart from Dirty Magic which is a great song and helps add a break from fast energetic skate punk. Also what I love is that most songs are pretty rubbish at the start but by the time the lyrics come in, the song is great… Read more

I'd rather give this album 3 and a half stars but its not possible so I rate it 3/5.(Sorry)
I also own 'White Trash, Two heebs and a Bean' and 'Punk in Drublic' which are both absolute killer 5 star albums. I bought this after it was recommended to me and in my opinion this is nowhere near as good as my other two. Its got too many ska songs, its 'poppy' and not enough catchy songs. There isn't one absolute perfect song on here. Take 'Monosyllabic Girl'. Its funny and very catchy but its let down by also being poppy and very short which goes for most of the good songs on here.
Overall, this is not as good as 'White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean' or 'Punk in Drublic' so i'm sadly… Read more
