4.0 out of 5 stars Good read., 23 Mar 2014
I liked this book written by former US Navy Seal Chris Kyle.
I also liked his descriptions of his training to become one of the Seals too,and his battle experiences in Iraq.
There are also many helpful contributions from his wife, and it's a very good read.
The only thing that gave me,a raised and bemused eyebrow, was Chris saying about us native Brits,to quote:'They speak English kinda funny.'
I bet your Texan accent speaking English sounds funny too!
However,one of my favourite books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable., 14 Dec 2013
I enjoyed this updated version of the Superman character. It still didn't beat the original 1978 version, but I found it very enjoyable.
I liked Henry Cavill's performance as Superman, and also Russell Crowe's role as Jor-El.I also liked Michael Shannon's bad guy as General Zod,but was faintly amused to read Michael trying to defend his character, saying he wasn't really a bad guy.Yeah,right.
Anyway, this offering was a good action film, but it was nowhere near the 1978 film.
However,it still gets a big thumbs up from me,and I'll look forward to the next offering.
Again;very enjoyable.

Having always been a huge fan of Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin, this film is definitely one of my favourites.
It intrigued me to see it was based on a true story.Having read what actually happened though,I felt very disappointed with the sad, tragic outcome.
Anyway,I enjoyed the film very much, seeing loner trapper:Albert Johnson (Charles Bronson) on the run, from honest Mountie Edgar Millen(played by Lee Marvin)who has the misfortune of leading a band of murderous thugs against Johnson, set in the remote, frozen Canadian territories.Basically, the thugs just want to kill Johnson for the hell of it,having persuaded Millen that Johnson did wrong against them. It's a decision all the thugs… Read more
