Capitol re-released 12 albums on cd in 2012. Apart from the previously unreleased mono version on cd or the new stereo version of the album, there were no bonus tracks. You can always assume some marketing strategy behind these things. Because now they can put a lot of previously unreleased material on a box set and selling the well-known hits again at the same time.

A lot of this previously unreleased material are demo's, a cappella versions, live versions, alternate versions or "with session-intro" versions of familiar songs. Only a big dozen titles of the "more than 60 previously unreleased songs" are songs that never appeared on any Beach Boys album. As a fan I welcome them… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars What a book!!!, 14 Aug 2013
I don't think Jon Stebbins has don a great job with his "The Beach Boys FAQ". But he sure knocks me down with this one. He and Ian Rusten have written a well researched big book about every concert The Beach Boys have played.

Almost every concert up till 1986 has anecdotes which are very amusing to read. From 1986 on it's merely an enumeration of dates and places. Brians solo concerts are not complete as the title of one of his chapters suggests "Notable Brian Wilson solo shows (1998 - 2011)".

Wild-Eyed Southern Boys / Special Forces ~ 38 Special

BGO records has a warm heart for Southern Rock. Releasing albums of Molly Hatchet, Ozark Mountain DAredevils, Wet Willie, Atlanta Rhythm Section, ... to name a few.

The twofer "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys/Special Forces" is remastered in 2013 by Andrew Thompson at Sound Performance in London. It's sounds great. It has a small booklet with additional information of the band's career and a few pictures of the members.

I hope BGO releases more albums of 38 Special in the same way. Great Job!
