5.0 out of 5 stars An incredible story!, 19 Dec 2012
I approached this book with caution. Due mainly to the write ups on the mans politics. These truley are warped. For a man clearly very intelligent he warps to his own views as the war goes on. In the end he is trying to save the West from communist hordes???? Did he forget the previous 2 years of Nazi aggression?? Very strange but still interesting. As for his outstanding war record and bravery one has to give him due respect. His operational record is incredible considering he was flying Stukas for the majority of the war..

This story was staggering! The commitment these men put into their war was not matched by those in government ,sadly. Again and again they went into almost suicidal missions and came back. A great read, a great unknown story. true heroes in every way.
