1.0 out of 5 stars so awful, 22 April 2010
I have never read a Rose Tramain before and after this am not inclined to do so.
She writes nicely about the landscape, but apart from that I found it utterly tedious. terribly unrealistic and very predictable. Just rushed throught the final 10/15 pages only to get it over with and only because I had nothing else to read. Not for me at all.
War Crimes for the Home by Liz Jensen
War Crimes for the Home by Liz Jensen
5.0 out of 5 stars excellent, 29 Nov 2008
This book will never make it onto a celebrity/day time tv book club- It is far too raw,far too unsentimental and far far too good. What I love about Liz jensen is that she doen't try and make us like her main charector,Gloria, at all. At times I found this book alomost unbearable to read, because it is so honest and true to real life. I loved it nevertheless and would highly recommend it.
The Ninth Life of Louis Drax by Liz Jensen
5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful, 30 Oct 2008
In my opinion this is writing as its best. Completly unputdownable and exquisitely written.Liz Jensen is probably the most original writer I have read for years, Her books are all completly different and this one is at the very top of my list. I loved every word.
