Duronic Apex Digital Display Wind-Up Solar Powered&hellip by Duronic

Normally you think that tech is a safe purchase on line (unlike, say, clothes) but this device is an example of where that's wrong. You can't really tell from the on line description, how big the thing is (which dictates speaker size) and you can't, of course, know what the sound quality is like. This unit is probably OK for camping where weight and size and power independence are priorities. Anywhere else, it's too small to be any good. The controls are hard to use, the sound is tinny and not very loud and the small surface area prevents the solar panel from contributing very much to charging. Low price though so hardly a risky investment - but still a waste of money for me
Sennheiser CX 685 Sports In-Ear canal Headphones by Sennheiser
I've spend £hundreds trying to find headphones that would work for me in the gym. I was sceptical about the efficacy of the wacky design of these but I was wrong. The fit is good, noise exclusion good, decent volume and sound quality, they are comfortable to wear and, above all , they stay in place. Only minor quibbles are a) the case is a bit naff (some non-tangle device would be especially welcome) and b) the cord is too long and too short. A shorter one with an extension would be an improvement

Generally, we expect the new one to better than the one it replaces but MS will have no truck with such conventionaly thinking. So, some of the things Win 8 won't do are maintain a wireless network connnection for more than a few minutes, hold up a VPN connection for even as long as that, and support VGA over the HDMI port. This last is a major bummer as it means the laptop can't connect to 95% of projectors. The OS is shockingly… Read more
