Liz & Dick [DVD] [2012] [Region 1] [US Import] [NT&hellip DVD ~ Lindsay Lohan
Why all the negative comments regardng this production? It was certainly no worse than the awful 'Liz, the Elizabeth Taylor story', which potrayed Burton as a one dimensional clown, and ran about two hours over the top. Perhaps people have a down on Linsay Lohan. The gossip mongers have it that she has made some bad choices lately, so let's kick her while she's on the slide, I suppose. The problem is that it's tough to find anyone even resembling Liz, who's face is so well known that only a double will suffice, perhaps. Grant Bowler did a pretty good job on Burton, though. He actually did resemble the person I am at present reading about in the 'Richard Burton Diaries'.

Liz: the Elizabeth Taylor Story [DVD] DVD ~ Sherilyn Fenn
2.0 out of 5 stars Tedious., 11 Jun 2014
A tedious production, with Sherilyn Fenn giving a competent portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor without very much resembling her (some reviewers on various forums need to go to specsavers), and Angus MacFadyen who does sort of resemble Richard Burton but probably due to over enthusiastic writing, portrays him as a boorish clown. Of course there was more to her life than Burton, and the husbands are lined up like dominoes. For someone who had such an eventfull life, though, this version of it still manages to be about two hours too long.
