This is a lovely sock knitting book which contains a lot of interesting and useful information and a lovely set of patterns. However, not all of the patterns are given in all sizes. Some are only given for Women's M, some are in Women's M and L. As the owner of a pair of S feet, I was disappointed to count 10 of the patterns as unachievable. Although I'm quite an experienced sock knitter, adjustment of the patterns would be difficult, as so many of them are complex stitch designs involving charts. And really, for a book like this, of this quality and style of publication and at this price, I would have expected that it would be **complete** as in containing a full set of sizes for each… Read more

This book contains content from The Knitting Book by Frederica patmore and vicky haffenden, so I'm not sure why the author is credited as Susie Johns. I advise you not to buy a copy if you already own the other book, as there are NO new knitting patterns in it. I'm shocked.

I bought this book to learn to crochet. I must admit, though, I didn't have much success with learning just with the book. I found it much more helpful to look at video demonstrations on YouTube, preferably when I had yarn and hook in my hand. I actually think the line drawn diagrams in the book are difficult to follow for a complete crochet beginner. Photographs of actual crochet might have been better.

However, this is the first crochet instruction book I've seen that includes detailed instructions (with diagrams) for both left and right handed users. I'm sure it would be helpful for a left handed learner who needs to see how the movements are reversed. Also, some of the… Read more
