I can only endorse the other 5 star reviews. I inherited a hardbound collected Dickens from my grandfather over twenty years ago - it takes up two full shelves on my bookcase.I still have a letter from a lecturer at University that began "Dear Dickensian" reminding me that to prepare for next semester's Dickens course would require reading about 10,000 pages! Now I have all that and more in this Kindle Edition. As well as all the novels, journalism and stories it contains numerous extras my paper edition lacks - collected letters and speeches, plays, poetry, criticism, biographies and even a memoir by Dickens' daughter, Mamie. This is, of course, a huge collection that would take up a few shelves of your bookcase if you had it in print form, so I can't testify to every page but I am impressed with the overall package. It's a nice surprise… Read more

I downloaded a few samples of the collected poems of Keats and this seemed to be the best in terms of formatting and presentation, so I bought it. Having downloaded the full version I turned immediately to "Ode to a Nightingale" and was somewhat perplexed to see the line "Dance and Provenal song, and sunburnt mirth!" Provenal?? I checked the notes and there it was again - Provenal. I have since checked a paper copy of this book in a bookshop and it correctly prints "Provenšal" so presumably the Kindle can't cope with a cedilla. Presumably nobody proof read it either. Then I turned to "To Autumn" and was surprised to see "Drowsed by the fume of poppies" rendered as "Drowsed by the fumes of… Read more
